Hi all,

Got yet another set of fins the other day and i thought i would let you know how i got on.

The fins in question are Mares Clipper Full Foot Snorkel Fins in a sort of dayglow green/yellow colour

http://www.beansonline.co.uk/acatalog/B ... el_40.html

I found them on ebay after trying jdo2's (off the forum) full foot pocket split fins

To be honest i had never really considered any full foot pocket fins thinking that they would come off in the white water or on a wipeout.

But they dont come off and they are the most comfy fins

I think its because you dont have this strap round your heel rubbing and the fact that they are a very soft compound but the work great with bare feet.

Thrust is nothing like that of the UDTs of course but is enough for most situations this is because the blade is much more flexable.

Great budget fins i got mine for 12 pounds including postage.

worth a try!

Ok so more info on the above fins

I've had them for a little while and found them to be a great pair of fins for matting and i think the biggest reason is that they are about a third the weight of UDTs it makes so much difference to a session and means you can kick for much longer before becoming tired.

Anyway bad news im affraid took the mat out yesterday in 3ft+ but heavy dumping waves and both fins were sucked off my feet never to be seen again!

I had noticed over the last few surfs that they had become looser on my feet and that mybe they had stretched slightly. Also when they first arrived my feet had very slight movement inside them which i think may have been a mistake!

Im not willing to give up the on full foot pocket fins just yet and as that pair were only £12 im not too upset

so ive just ordered new set of fins of a different make but same style in one size smaller to try and get a better fit:

Will keep you posted

Ok so i've been using these new cheap rapide full foot fins for a while now and they work very well giving enough thrust to make it into most waves and comfy with bare feet. They havent stretched like the mares flippers mentioned above or been washed off my feet at either.

so if you want a cheap pair of lightweight fins then these are great!
