Mix up some soapy water and brush on or dip inflated mat in it. Sqeeze the mat (lightly) to force air through the leak. The leak will show up as bubbles. Repair with aquaseal or similar flexible cement.

did you ever find the leak ?

i just went through a leak nightmare :)
but i learned alot in the proccess.
it all started when i sat on the mat this mat has been slowly seeping
but would hold air for a session
if you blew it up overnight it would need some breaths the next day but nothing serious.
i sat on it and i heard a leak
i knew it was from the left front corner so i felt around and found a place i could pinch and it stopped it .
i thouoght it was leaking up between the two layers of fabric.
figured i could seal a meal it above dales seam and get it sealed
for an easy fix.
what i found was the mat actually leaks or seaps from the side of the seam where its holding air. so its coming out the bottem of the mat not the side along the seam.
this is the place to dabble some water/soapy water and squeeze the mat to look for bubbles so i thought i will just seal a meal below the seam and i did and i stopped that leak
but now the mat had slightly changed shape and i did the other corner as a preventative measure and to make nose symetrical .

the next day the preformance was changed quite a bit and i leanred how delicate the mats dimensions are i oculd still get it to roll but the amount of air volume had changed i had to take out air
to compensate for the corners being sort of squeeezed all the time from the reshaping
but this made the volume almost to low to support me
i figured the mat would work really well now for someone who weighed about 100 lbs at under 5 foot tall but not so much for me .

soo now i was stuck with how to undo these seams and them tackle the problem of the leaks again.

i used a heat gun to blow hot air into the mat after trying to pull the seams apaart cold unsuccessfully.
then i almost lost the valve when the inner plastic had started to melt from the hot air

i shoved the chapstick laden plug in and it reshaped the plastic sleave back to operating status :) whew
it cooled and actually holds air better now :)

then with hot sir in the mat i was able to pull the seam apart only casueing another set of seeps on top and bottom of mat now and a small pentip sized hole.

aquaseal to the rescue and layed a nice bead all the way around the mat
right over the inside of dales heat weld seam all around the bottem of the mat and over my new seeps 3 glueing sessions later

now she hold air 100% no loss overnight inflated

aquaseal is amazing !

brought her back from the grave one more time :)
do mats have 9 lives like a cat ?

Mattitude - I should be resurfacing my matt soon.

Which means I will have half a tube of Vulkiem left over.

If it helps it's yours.

Mattitude - I'm wondering "what is 'seal-a-meal'", then figuring maybe it's some device for heat-sealing plastic bags, and you used it on your mat corners hence the change in shape? Ah Google to the rescue...it IS a vacuum sealer!

I have corner leaks...soapy water foams up a heap from both rear corners. Will try and isolate and spread Aquaseal over the area.
